Octopus live in this holes and when he feels in danger uses stones to cover the entrance of their homes. Removing the stones is most of the times not enough to get to it, so I made a hook that I use to pull them out. The hook is something like the one in the picture, with the end os if sharpened as it have to hook the animal. I made it using a paint roller handle and bend the end to have a hooklike shape and then sharpen the tip with a grinder. Octopus are extremely strong and their suction cups hold very well on the rocks and I had sometimes to use my feet to push against the rock to pull it out.
